Electronics in Japan
The voltage in Japan is 100 Volt, which is lower and different from North America (120V), Central Europe (230V) and most other regions of the world. Due to the voltage difference, some appliances you bring from your home country might only work half power in Japan, or not work at all. Please consider buying a voltage converter if you intend to bring over your own appliances.
Sockets in Japan are A-Type. Please bring a socket converter, or buy a Type A plug. Universal adapters are also a good choice.
You can also buy socket converters, voltage converters, and Type A Plugs at the airport, or at Electronic Stores in Japan like Yodobashi, Bic Camera, Yamada Denki, etc.
